Ultrasound In Use

Ultrasound – an imaging instrument that allows the veterinarian to evaluate internal organs in real time three dimensions and actually allows a “look inside” many organs.  This tool allows us to perform echo- cardiography for heart disease, evaluate pregnancies, kidney disease, screen internal organs for tumors and other abnormalities and perform more accurate biopsies of internal structures.

Endoscopy – The Cat Hospital of Auburn has two endoscopes of different sizes that are used to look inside the gastrointestinal system (stomach, small intestines, colon) and down the respiratory system  to evaluate disease, procure specimens for biopsy or cytology, and remove foreign bodies.

Tono Pen – an ophthalmic instrument that quickly and painlessly measures intraocular pressure, important in the diagnosis of glaucoma, hypertension and other eye disorders.

Laboratory

In addition to routine health care, we offer a complete in house laboratory that offers rapid turnaround of clinical chemistries, hematology and cytology blood gasses and coagulation profiles to provide immediate lab results for critically sick cats and rapidly screens pre-surgical patients.
