Feline overpopulation is one of the most heartbreaking and frustrating problems facing society today. In a small way our adoption program helps answer this problem.
We test, neuter, spay, vaccinate, de-worm and do whatever it takes to return a cat to health and then place the cat out for adoption.
We do not euthanize a cat once it is accepted into our program. Some cats have lived with us for 6 months before finding the right home!

Happy endings
Here are a few stories from clients of the adoption program.

Izellia is a very happy and well loved cat. She is a small cat, weighing in at only 6 1/2 pounds, but us is very healthy and playful. Izzy, as we call her, loves to meet new poeple that come over to visit and is always excited to meet everyone at the door. She is a beautiful cat with a very interesting fur that has different lengths mixed together with unmatched softness. She is an awesome pet with a great personality. I am so glad that I adopted her!
Thank you for giving Izzy the chance to be in this album.
Thanks again,
Leah

My wife Kathy asked me to send you some photos of Niko. (we kept his name) As you can see, he's very well adjusted to his new home. |

Thank you for the kindness regarding the cat we adopted. My girlfriend fell in love with him the moment we saw him. He's been a terriffic addition to our small family of sorts. He has the most amazing and unique personality I've ever seen in a cat. We swear theres a person trapped inside him somewhere. He follows my girlfriend from room to room like a puppy. We did some research on the breed, and wish to adopt another Maine Coon Cat soon. We re-named him Rufus. He is extremely happy here with us. We hope to have him with us for a long time to come. I've attached some photos we took of him to add to your collection. If you want more pics, feel free to email me. We have plenty. Regards Dan and Tansy (and Rufus)

Hi Deb- I am responding to you about Daniel (now Flagstaff--Flaggy for short) and Jeremy (now Jerome--no nickname--his tuxedo coloring makes him look too formal for a nickname)---- I am including a few photos so you can share them with your aunt-- and I will try to get better photos for the album. My husband Neil and I lost our pet of 10 years (we are not sure how old she was when we first met her---anywhere between 1 and 3 and she lived with her previous owner for an additional 6 years) on February 6th of this year. Fluffy was a great pet and wonderful companion-- we adopted her when her previous owners moved to Vegas. We thought she went with them and then one evening two weeks later when I returned home from work she came running to me crying and all matted and scuffed up paws---she had obviously been abandoned. From that point on she lived with us. This past October, after 17 years together, Neil and I finally got married. This is a picture of Fluffy wearing my wedding tiara on the day before the wedding View full size View full sizeThis is Fluffy posing with us as we were preparing to go to the governor's inauguration festivities at Union Station. It was almost as if she knew she would be with us for only another month!
Putting her to sleep was one of the toughest decisions we ever had to make. I think neither of us ever belived she would be gone from our lives. A week after her death, I went to the Cat Hospital to make some final arrangements for her. At that time, I visited the kennel area and first saw Jefferey and Daniel. Jefferey was very sweet and licked my fingers and Daniel gave me some head butts!!! I was hooked-- they truly seemed so sweet. I had Neil stop by during the week and he thought they were nice, as well. We decided on the Sunday, Feb 18th, to adopt them if they were both still there on Monday. I went out and purchased two of everything--- since all of Fluffy's things were very girly, I got them each a blue bed, some toys (since they were young), new food bowls, and two soft-sided pet carriers.... and called the Cat Hospital of Monday morning. When they told me they were still availabnle for adoption, my heart felt a little lighter than it had been with all my grieving over our princess. We took the boys home and it took us a while to figure out their names. They are very active, especially during the night (although that seems to have slowed down a little) and both of them are now talking--- Jerome (Jefferey) has a little coo that sounds kind of like a chicken, and Flagstaff (Daniel) has a little squeak--- they love to play, love running up and down the stairs, and love looking out the window at the birds and squirrels in our backyard. I would love to know if they had any favorite foods, etc... I have a picture of both Jerome and Flagstaff and I promise I will send you better photos. Please tell your aunt we are thankful for the wonderful job she did in making sure they were lovely cats. We love them dearly (already) and promise to take good care of them. Hi Deb- Here is a picture of Coco (now Sedona)-- the cats are all names after our three favorite places in Arizona. Sedona is a small town with magnificent red rock cliffs and named after the first postmaster's daughter, Jerome is a small artist town that is very friendly and a little quirky, and Flagstaff is the entryway to the GRand Canyon area and at about 10,000 feet above sea level. Each of the towns reflects what we can see of the personalities of these kitties. Sedona (Coco) is finally out and playing with the boys--- however, when she gets really excited she does something with her tongue that looks like she is panting-- I am going to "google" this and see if it is normal--- if not, I will call the cat hospital--- Please tell your aunt all three kitties are doing great---- Thanks- Joan
Hi,
About Shiloh, the cat we adopted from the Auburn Cat Hospital in February. We're happy to be able to share some pics of our newest family member. We've renamed her to Nola Simone, and she's fitting into our family wonderfully. She's taken over the bed and every night she walks upstairs to tuck us in and put us to sleep with her purrs. We can't help but spoil her rotten, she's soooooo sweet. She has her own toybox and has become best friends with our 5 year old, Cheeze. They chase mice and each other all over the house. In the few weeks that we've had Nola, we've become very attached to her and her sweet kisses. We're so happy that the Cat Hospital took her in when she was found in the auto body shop and glad we were able to adopt her. It's great that your aunt has been able to save cats in Nola's situation. Mike and Karen Ackerman

Please forgive that I am sending this to you via my "work" computer ...but a friend of mine just recently adopted a cat from The Cat Hospital ... Trevor ... who is such a sweetie ... I just cannot imagine no one "missing" him ...
But anyways, he received a letter just recently from you stating that you're putting together a photo album for The Cat Hospital ... I, in fact, saw it the last time I was in with my cat (who, unfortunately, did not come from there) ... but I do hope you will include Mr. Polo ...
I had Mr. Polo for only about three years ... he was a geriatric cat ... really a lot older than what I thought he was ... but he was such a charmer ... when I got him I had had a operation and was out six weeks recuperating ... he sat with me as I recovered ... I was in my chair with a blanket around me/he was under the blanket with me ... when I took him home that first day, he walked into the house and right then and there, it was his. There was no "getting used to the place" ... the cat next door came by just to peek in and Mr. Polo told him right then and there who was the master of the house ...
The picture that I am including was taken while he was getting the afternoon sun with the front door open ... I've clipped it somewhat, but there was a lot of snow outside ... I had to say "goodbye" to him several years ago, only having had him three years ... but he was right up there with my other sweeties who I had had for 16 years ... I still talk about him to people and this picture is on my computer screens both at work and at home ...
So, I do hope you put him in one of the albums along with Mr. Trevor ... I did get him from The Cat Hospital.
Thank you.

I love him dearly and his story touched my heart.
Left behind when his family moved away, Trevor has spent a great deal of time out running pit bulls on his quest for food and a place to sleep.
He hitched a ride to the Cat hospital in an effort to find a home in from the cold and a loving family who will never leave him behind again.

Hi Deb,
I love your photo album idea. I adopted "Wilard" about 1 month ago but changed his name to "TIGGER".
He's doing great...... he's so much fun. He absolutely loves chasing around a string I have and amuses
himself chasing around little plastic balls with bells inside. He likes to carry them in his mouth from room
to room. He especially enjoys bringing them up on to my bed where he can dive into the pillows after them.
I hope you like the pic......If they aren't clear enough, please let me know and I can mail some to you.
If you'd like to visit with him, I have an appointment on Mon. 5/7/07 at 5:45. I'm sure he'd love to see you
again.
Thanks,
Lynn Ferron
Deb,
You knew these guys as Jude & Chevy. They are thriving - Timothy is a compact model weighing in at about 5.5 lbs at 7 months. Bertie is a little butterball up near 8 lbs now. Both are happy and healthy and love playing - with their toys, each other, and anything else that amuses them.
Thank you so much for rescuing them - you're a good soul to be out so late at night to save these sweet, innocent creatures. These two guys were very lucky, and so am I to have them as my pals, they bring a lot of joy and laughter to the house.
-- Alexa.
